1505Born as Jane Parker the daughter of Henry Parker, 10th Baron Morley and Alice St John and raised in Norfolk, England
 

1525Jane Parker married George Boleyn. It was a politically arranged marriage and a particularly unhappy one. Jane Parker had an unpleasant personality and was deeply jealous of the close relationship which George Boleyn shared with his sister Anne, who was to become Queen Anne Boleyn

1525King Henry VIII started an affair with Mary Boleyn and the Howard family began to rise in power. Mary subsequently had two children, Catherine and Henry, both believed to be the illegitimate children of King Henry VIII.

1529King Henry VIII turned his attentions to Anne Boleyn with whom he fell passionately in love. Titles and lands were bestowed on the Howard family

Jane Parker became Lady Jane Rochford in October when her husband, George Boleyn was knighted and the title of Earl of Rochford was conferred on him


1533January 25th 1533: King Henry VIII married Anne Boleyn

1533Lady Jane Rochford became Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Anne Boleyn. Anne Boleyn gave birth to a daughter who would become Queen Elizabeth I

1535Anne Boleyn became pregnant again but she miscarried the baby. This tragedy sealed the fate of Anne Boleyn, the marriage was over and the power of the Howard family moved to the Seymour family with the infatuation of King Henry with Jane Seymour
 

1536Lady Jane Rochford was instrumental in the arrest of her sister-in-law, Anne and her own husband George Boleyn and she provided damning evidence against them both to Thomas Cromwell

1536May 15th 1536 - Queen Anne Boleyn and George Boleyn were tried for treason and incest in the Great Hall of the Tower of London. They were found guilty and both were executed
 

1540Catherine Howard caught the eye of King Henry VIII and soon became his mistress. The Howard family including Lady Jane Rochford were back in royal favour

154028 July 1540 - Catherine Howard married King Henry VIII at Oatlands Palace in Surrey. Lady Jane Rochford later became a Lady of the Privy Chamber to the young Queen Catherine Howard

1540Jane Rochford revelled in intrigue and encouraged the young queen in an affair with Thomas Culpepper and she helped organised secret meetings between the two lovers

Rumours of the relationship between the young Queen Catherine Howard and Thomas Culpepper started to circulate
 

1541Lady Jane Rochford's part as a go-between was discovered and she was arrested and taken to the Tower of London for questioning where she was interrogated and lost her sanity
 

1541A new law had to be passed which allowed the execution of the insane in order to have Lady Jane Rochford condemned to death and executed

1541Lady Jane Rochford confessed before her death, "God has permitted me to suffer this shameful doom as punishment for having contributed to my husband's death. I falsely accused him of loving in an incestuous manner, his sister, Queen Anne Boleyn. For this I deserve to die."

154213 February 1542: Lady Jane Rochford was executed immediately after poor, tragic Catherine Howard
